COMMUNITY PROJECTS
Organizations like KMI don’t just build schools or dig wells – they plant the seeds for entire ecosystems of opportunity, rooted in education, health, and local empowerment.
Below are some of the ways that we are trying to help:

Education
Education is often the centerpiece for lasting change.
- Building and Expanding Schools: Constructing classrooms, libraries, and computer labs.
- Tuition Assistance: Providing scholarships or tuition subsidies ensures all children attend school.
- Teacher Support: Funding salaries, training, and building teacher housing to attract qualified educators.
- School Supplies: Supplying books, uniforms, and learning materials.
Our goal is to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need for a better future, while strengthening the entire educational infrastructure.
Water and Sanitation
Access to clean water is foundational to health and community stability.
- Drilling Wells: Installing fresh water wells to reduce reliance on unsafe water sources.
- Pump Maintenance: Ongoing repairs and upgrades for existing water systems.
- Sanitation Facilities: Building toilets and hand-washing stations, often at schools and clinics.
- Health Education: Teaching hygiene practices to prevent the spread of disease.
The goal is to reduce illness, save lives, and allow children (especially girls) more time for education rather than fetching water.

Healthcare
Providing basic medical services to under-served communities.
- Clinic Construction: Setting up or supporting rural health clinics.
- Medical Missions: Sending volunteer medical teams to deliver care and training.
- Health Education Programs: Offering classes in nutrition, disease prevention, and maternal care.
- Access to Medicines: Providing vital medications and vaccinations.
We hope to improve the community’s overall health, which in turn supports better educational and economic outcomes.
Community Development
Strengthening the overall resilience and independence of the community.
- Agricultural Initiatives: Teaching sustainable farming techniques, providing seeds or livestock.
- Economic Empowerment: Vocational training, small business support, and microloans.
- Infrastructure Projects: Building community centers, roads, or renewable energy installations (like solar power).
Our goal is to create self-sustaining communities where families have the skills, knowledge, and tools they need to thrive independently.

Renewable Energy
Sustain the mission of renewable energy through financial support and advocacy.
- Events: Community solar fairs, benefit dinners, and sustainability-themed walks to support solar infrastructure at St. Teresa Learning Center.
- Online Campaigns: Crowdfunding for expanding solar panel installations, Giving Tuesday drives focused on renewable energy, and sales of eco-friendly merchandise.
- Educational Talks: Raising awareness about the impact of renewable energy on education, health, and community development in rural Uganda.
KMI has already implemented solar panels to provide basic electricity for the St. Teresa Learning Center, enhancing the educational environment and supporting community needs.
Fundraising and Awareness Campaigns
Sustain the mission through financial support and advocacy.
- Events: Charity golf tournaments, galas, and walkathons.
- Online Campaigns: Crowdfunding projects, Giving Tuesday drives, or merchandise sales.
- Educational Talks: Raising awareness about global poverty, health disparities, and development work.
We want to ensure a steady flow of resources and expand the circle of people invested in the community’s success.

Mission Trips and Volunteer Engagement
Building relationships and transferring skills, not just providing handouts.
- Construction Teams: Assisting with building schools, clinics, or wells.
- Education Teams: Teaching in classrooms, offering tutoring, or running youth programs.
- Medical Teams: Conducting health camps or assisting in clinics.
- Cultural Exchange: Learning from the community, building long-term friendships, and fostering mutual understanding.
We hope to engage volunteers deeply and respectfully while empowering local leadership.
