The “Wishing for Wells and Community Well-being” golf tournament has made a difference that the learners, staff and villagers in the rural village of Kassunga, Uganda experience and appreciate daily. There is still more work to be done. The fifth annual tournament will help make that happen.
The past four tournaments have made possible remarkable progress. Fresh, clean water is the most precious resource in the area. Wells have been dug at St. Teresa Learning Center. Learners and staff have access to that water. Water has been shared with the villagers of Kassunga.
Gutters and piping have been installed on all buildings in the primary school section. A large cistern (water tank) has been installed below ground to efficiently harvest the run-off rain. A water tower with large tanks has been installed. Solar-powered pumps have been installed to manage the water.
